ASUS annouces 8000 series mid-range cards
Hey everyone! Today we will be looking at ASUS range of the latest mid-range 8000 series cards released by Nvidia.
Starting from the top, sporting a all blue PCB colour, the 8500GT comes equipped with a sexy passive heatsink! That's why its code-named silent! 256MB DDR2 memory clock, 400MHZ/800MHZ core/memory ratio and supports a maximum resolution of 2048 x 1536 pixels, this card is probably one of the most value for money mid range 8000 series card available in the market. Oh, did i mention that its HDTV ready as well?
Next up, also sporting an all blue PCB, we have the 8600GT. The heatsink fan kind of reminds me of the zalman ones that i used to use on my cards! Next up, we will look at the specifications. Slightly better core/memory ratio as compared to the 8500GT, 540MHZ/1400MHZ, memory clock rated at 256MB, runs at DDR3! Impressive! Maximum resolution the card can support is 3840/2400, no problems running dual 30 inchers eh?
And last but not least, sporting the familiar green PCB, we have the 8600GTS! An impressive core/memory ratio, 675MHZ/2000MHZ, rated to run at 256MB DDR3! This is one hell of a solid mid-range card! This particular card stands out among its peers because of one single specification, anyone can guess it? Well, this card is HDCP compliant! Excellant card for HTPC owners! According to Hardspell.com , this card comes bundled together with the latest game, Stalker : Shadow Of Chernobyl!
Conclusion? Direct X10 supported, HDCP compliant, HDTV ready, fantastic core/memory ratios, what are we waiting for?
